Veneers are thin restorations that are used to improve color, close
spaces, and correct the shape of teeth. Veneers require less tooth
preparation than conventional crowns and are made of porcelain or
resin. A bonding process is used to attach veneers to teeth.
Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are the "Gold Standard" in dental esthetics.
These restorations are laboratory fabricated and provide a more
predictable long-term solution than resin veneers. Porcelain is
color stable and maintains its enamel appearance over time.

Resin Veneers
Resin veneers can be laboratory fabricated or directly applied.
In our practice resin veneers are generally directly applied. These
restorations work well in situations where only one or two teeth
require esthetic changes. The main advantage with resin veneers
is that color can be matched chairside. Also, because direst resin
veneers are completed in one appointment, no temporary restorations
are required.
The main disadvantage with any resin restoration is that over time
surface deterioration and staining can occur. Resin veneers do not
usually last as long as porcelain veneers.
