In most applications where bridgework is performed we utilize porcelain fused to a substructure of gold. The gold is not visible, however, it provides the strength required for the bridge to function properly. There are some instances where a porcelain substructure can be used, but in our practice we limit this design to short span situations.

We evaluate several factors with all of our cosmetic procedures, including tooth shape, color, number of teeth in the smile display, and position of the lips. We also evaluate the amount of gum tissue that shows while smiling, which is a primary consideration in the smile design. Our goal is to provide an esthetic solution that looks authentic and not laboratory processed.
